STEP ONE
1½ Days Classroom
One and a half training days running 7:45am – 4:00pm, at our training facility or onsite at your workplace by request.

STEP TWO
4 Hour Assessment
A practical assessment demonstrating competency across the five units.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To enrol, you must
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Provide 100 Points of Identification
- Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ACSF Level 2
- Provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Recommended to hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or equivalent
REQUIRED PPE
Personal Protective Equipment
Working as a Traffic Controller, you’ll need the correct PPE. You’ll need to purchase:
- Hi-Vis shirt
- Long work pants
- Work boots
Once you gain employment, discuss any additional PPE with your employer, as company requirements differ. You may need additional hi-vis shirts, work pants, a hard hat or radios.

Section 06 / Total Investment
Upfront Costs
The service fee is paid to ACTA Group at enrolment. PPE is purchased separately, and your SafeWork NSW card is issued on completion.
Costs are paid in three phases as you progress. The course fee goes to ACTA at enrolment. PPE is purchased before your on-site placement. The TMR licence is paid directly to the Department of Transport and Main Roads after course completion — that’s not a cost ACTA collects.

Working as a Traffic Controller, you are required to have the correct PPE. You will need to purchase a hi-vis shirt, long work pants and work boots.
Once you gain employment, you will need to discuss with your employer any additional PPE that you may require as per their company policy. The items each company provides will differ. You may need to purchase additional hi-vis shirts, work pants, a hard hat or radios.
ACTA Group’s Participant Advice and Selection Policy outlines in detail a process to be followed for granting Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer. This is supported with RPL resources available for all course units.
Participants must apply for RPL or Credit Transfer prior to or immediately after formal enrolment, but prior to the commencement of the delivery of the units. Any RPLs granted must be accepted and signed off by the participant.
Due to differing governing bodies in each State and Territory, credit transfers and RPLs need to be accompanied by an assessment of the student’s underpinning knowledge of the State regulator’s manual to confirm competency for the state licence/card before competency is granted.
