Delivery / Course Duration:

Under the NSW Smart and Skilled Program, ACTA Group is able to provide individuals with the opportunity to complete a full Certificate II level qualification subsidised under the Smart and Skilled Entitlement Full Qualifications Program.

You are eligible if you are:

  • 15 years old or over
  • No longer in secondary education
  • Living or working in NSW (or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific NSW border areas)
  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent;
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Upon successful completion of this Nationally Recognised Qualification, students will receive a Testamur in RII20120 Certificate II in Resources and infrastructure work preparation.

To be awarded the RII20120 Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation, the following packaging rules apply:

Total number of units = 9
4 core units  plus
5 elective units  of which:

  • at least three (3) must be chosen from Group A
  • no more than two (2) may be chosen from Group B
  • no more than one (1) unit may be chosen from elsewhere within this training package, or from another endorsed training package, or from an accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid vocational outcome.

The elective bank contains both licensed and non-licensed units of competency relating to high risk work in the resources and infrastructure industry. To be appointed under any statutory requirements in related roles, units of competency should be selected to meet the state/territory licensing requirements.

There is one prerequisite in the imported units listed in this qualification. Where a unit is imported as an elective care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisites specified are complied with.

ACTA Group’s Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedure  outlines in detail a process to be followed for granting Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer. This is supported with RPL resources available for all course units.

Participants must apply for RPL or credit transfer prior to or immediately after formal enrolment but prior to the commencement of the delivery of the units. Any RPL’s granted must be accepted and signed off by the participant.
