Our TC Courses
Most students start with one of these three pathways depending on the role they’re heading into. All three are nationally recognised skill sets. Not sure which? Have a quick read or give us a call.
Pathway 01
Traffic Controller
TCR — RIISS00054
For workers controlling traffic on-site with a Stop/Slow bat. The most common entry point into the industry.

Get certified as both a Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer. Save time and money over taking them separately.

For workers responsible for setting up, monitoring and dismantling traffic management worksites.

Section 02 · Individual Units
Additional units of competency.
Add a specific qualification to your existing ticket, or complete a single unit your employer requires. All units listed below are nationally recognised.
A note on prerequisites
Most of these units can be completed as standalone qualifications. However, students typically enrol because their employer requires a specific competency, or to extend an existing TCR or IMP qualification. If you’re unsure whether a unit suits your situation, give us a call before enrolling.
Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices
Work as a safety observer/spotter
Operate truck or trailer mounted attenuators
Operate a light vehicle
Apply, monitor and report on compliance
Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

Read this first
Before you enrol
Every NSW class needs a minimum of 6 students to proceed. Participants must be at least 17 years of age, provide 100 points of identification, have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ACSF Level 2, and supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI). A General Construction Induction Card (White Card) is recommended. New to the industry? See our starter courses above.

The questions we hear most often. Don’t see yours?
TCR is not a formal prerequisite for IMP. However, most students choose the combined TCR + IMP course because traffic controller skills underpin a lot of what’s covered in IMP, and the combo works out cheaper than doing the two skillsets separately.
Most of our individual units can be completed standalone. Some are typically taken as extensions to an existing TCR / IMP ticket. If you’re unsure whether a specific unit suits your situation, give us a call before booking.
Your Statement of Attainment doesn’t expire, but the Traffic Control Work Training Card issued by SafeWork NSW does need to be kept current. Check the expiry printed on your card, or get in touch and we’ll confirm what you need to do.
Funding eligibility depends on your circumstances, the course, and current government funding programs. Get in touch and we’ll let you know what funding options may apply to your situation.
Photo ID and 100 points of identification, your USI (Unique Student Identifier), and PPE including a hi-vis shirt, long work pants and work boots. A White Card is recommended. Bring a notepad and pen, and lunch (or money for the local cafe). Full details are emailed once you book.
We run NSW classes at Coffs Harbour (North Boambee Valley), Lismore to Ballina and Tweed Heads to Byron Bay. Onsite training is available by request for group bookings. Each class needs a minimum of 6 students to proceed.
Statements of Attainment are typically issued within 1-2 days of completing your assessment, provided your USI is verified.
