Course Objective:

This unit covers the performance of rescue procedures from an elevated work platform (EWP) in the workplace. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a raised EWP by a work party member on the ground and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace subject to regulations for undertaking of electrical work.

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent; and
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
  • Prerequisite unit – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

**Transition Statement – Replacement Unit of Competency**

UETDRRF002 Perform EWP rescue has been replaced by UETDRMP005 Perform elevated work platform rescue as of the 13th October 2022. A transition period applies to enable current enrolled students to complete their study. The transition period finishes on the 13th October 2023. If required, enrolments can be transitioned into the new replacement unit of competency.

Upon successful completion of this unit, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in UETDRRF002 Perform EWP rescue.

UETDRRF002 Perform EWP Rescue

ACTA Group’s Participant Advice and Selection Policy outlines in detail a process to be followed for granting Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer. This is supported with RPL resources available for all course units.

Participants must apply for RPL or credit transfer prior to or immediately after formal enrolment but prior to the commencement of the delivery of the units. Any RPL’s granted must be accepted and signed off by the participant.
