CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Course Objective:

Prior to undertaking construction work in Australia, one must obtain a White Card by successfully completing the mandatory work health and safety training that this unit covers.

Upon course completion students must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements
  • Identify and orally report common construction hazards
  • Understanding of basic risk control measures
  • Ability to identify procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies
  • Select and fit common personal protective equipment used for construction work

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 14 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent; and
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 1
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
