Course Objective:

This unit provides the required skills and knowledge required to conduct rigid haul truck operations safely and effectively. 

Course subjects include site policies, work instructions, emergency procedures, system monitoring and hazard identification.

Upon course completion students must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proper loading, hauling, and dumping of materials.
  • The correct way to park and shut down machines.
  • How to adjust techniques to meet changing work conditions.
  • Post-operational checks.
  • Good housekeeping
  • Process written records

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent.
  • Have language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
  • Hold a valid WHS White Card or equivalent
  • Hold a current State Regulators driver’s licence
