Course Objective:

This unit provides the required skills and knowledge required to conduct rigid haul truck operations safely and effectively. This 3-day course is suitable for those who work in operational roles in extractive industries which may include:

  • Civil Construction
  • Coal Mining
  • Metalliferous Mining

Course subjects include site policies, work instructions, emergency procedures, system monitoring and hazard identification.

Upon course completion students must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proper loading, hauling, and dumping of materials.
  • The correct way to park and shut down machines.
  • How to adjust techniques to meet changing work conditions.
  • Post-operational checks.
  • Good housekeeping
  • Process written records.

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent.
  • Have language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
  • Hold a valid WHS White Card or equivalent
  • Hold a current State Regulators driver’s licence

Upon successful completion of this unit, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in RIIMPO338E Conduct rigid haul truck operations.
