Course Objective:

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as skilled operators in civil construction, who apply a broad range of skills in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. The individual may provide theoretical advice and support a team.

The qualification applies to specialist occupations in bituminous surfacing, bridge construction and maintenance, pipe laying, road construction and maintenance, road marking, tunnel construction, timber bridge construction and maintenance, traffic management and general civil construction occupations.

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent.
  • Have language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
  • Hold CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry and current Construction Industry ‘White Card’
  • Be employed in a civil construction role allowing relevant construction work to be completed, and study via a workplace supported pathway.

Upon successful completion of this Nationally Recognised Qualification, students will receive a Testamur in RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction Traffic Management.

To be awarded the RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Traffic Management) the following packaging rules apply:
Total number of units = 25
8 core units plus
17 elective units, of which:

  • eight (8) units must be chosen from Group V
  • at least four (4) units must be chosen from Group W
  • at least three (3) units must be chosen from Group X
  • up to two (2) units may be chosen from the electives listed below, elsewhere within this training package, or from another endorsed training package, or from an accredited course.

ACTA Group’s Participant Advice and Selection Policy outlines in detail a process to be followed for granting Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer. This is supported with RPL resources available for all course units.

Participants must apply for RPL or credit transfer prior to or immediately after formal enrolment but prior to the commencement of the delivery of the units. Any RPL’s granted must be accepted and signed off by the participant.
