Under the NSW Smart and Skilled Program, ACTA Group is able to provide individuals with the opportunity to complete a  Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities Prevocational and Part Qualification (TPPPQ) Program.

Am I Eligible?

You are eligible if you are:

  • 15 years old or over
  • No longer at school
  • Living or working in NSW (or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific NSW border areas)
  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

If you meet all four criteria then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course with an approved Smart and Skilled training provider such as ACTA Group.

Students with disabilities, students who receive Australian Government benefits or allowances and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students may qualify for additional fee exemptions or concessions.

Participants must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age;
  • Provide 100 Points of Identification
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Recommended to hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or equivalent

Upon successful completion of these units, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in

RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs,

A Traffic Control Work Training Card will be issued by Safework NSW for the classes: TCR & IMP.

ACTA Group’s Participant Advice and Selection Policy outlines in detail a process to be followed for granting Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer. This is supported with RPL resources available for all course units.

Participants must apply for RPL or Credit Transfer prior to or immediately after formal enrolment but prior to the commencement of the delivery of the units. Any RPL’s granted must be accepted and signed off by the participant.

Due to differing governing bodies in each State and Territory, credit transfers and RPL’s need to be accompanied by an assessment of the students underpinning knowledge of the State regulators manual to confirm competency for the state licence/card before competency is granted.

This program is suited to those who have traffic controller experience and wish to further their career within the traffic industry.
