Course Objective:

This course provides essential training on the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a light vehicle within the civil construction, mining, and infrastructure industries.

It applies to those working in operational roles who generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of their own work outcomes.

Upon course completion applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to plan and prepare for light vehicle operations, identify, and interpret workplace policies and procedures, and conduct pre-start checks and general vehicle maintenance.


*Drivers Licence is required to be sighted on enrolment

ACTA Group Course Admission Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age;
  • Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent;
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
  • Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
  • Hold a current State Regulator driver’s licence

Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in RIIVEH201E Operate a light vehicle.
